Dr. Vancza is currently a Principal Scientist of Occupational Toxicology within Merck Research Laboratories, where she assists business operations in the areas of occupational toxicology, product quality, environmental safety and risk assessment. She has worked as an occupational toxicologist for over 15 years both as a direct member of program development teams and as an external consultant, providing support and training to businesses within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries worldwide. Elizabeth is considered a leading new modality subject matter expert within the occupational toxicology field, particularly in relation to NextGen biopharmaceuticals. She earned her PhD and MS degrees from New York University, with respective concentrations in inhalation toxicology and immunotoxicology, and she remains a guest lecturer for the Environmental Medicine graduate program in the areas of risk assessment, genetic susceptibility, and pharmacogenomics. She is certified by the American Board of Toxicology and is an Associate Member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) Committee, which provides formal, publicly available chemical exposure limits.
