Adam Persans has been a licensed Professional Engineer and active in a range of mechanical design and operation engineering activities over the last 40 years. In the past 20 years, he has specialized in the mechanical and automation design development of single use containment systems for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical process equipment for HPAPI materials. In his current position as Director, Process Equipment & Field Applications, he is focused on the expanded use of ILC Dover’s single-use technology containment solutions and the contained powder handling solutions in the Americas.
Adam’s academic background includes a BS, Bucknell University in Physics and Mathematics, ’85, US Naval Nuclear Power plant training and operations, and a Professional Engineer’s license. These qualifications and broad experience with ILC Dover give him insight into the challenges of HPAPI dry powder drug process scale-up, from scientists in the development lab to process engineers addressing the challenges of kilo lab to full-scale production scale ups.
