William A. Hawkins, BSc (Hons), MSc, CBiol, MRSB, ERT, has worked in the field of toxicology for 25 years, specializing as an Occupational Toxicologist in the Pharmaceutical Industry for the last 15 years. In his current role as the SafeBridge Pharmaceutical Toxicology Business Unit and Senior Managing Toxicologist, he advances Clients’ worker, product and patient safety programs. Specifically, this entails the development of Health Based Exposure Limits (HBELs) such as Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL) and Permitted Daily Exposure (PDE) values, advising Clients on how to implement improvements to their current processes, leading the Toxicology and Safety Data Sheet Teams, delivering training at the SafeBridge Potent Compound Boot Camp and mentoring early career staff. His blend of technical skills, leadership capability, and strategic insight positions him as a trusted advisor in advancing safe, compliant, and scientifically sound worker and patient safety processes. Professional recognition of current practice in toxicology is recognized by the award of UK Chartered Biologist and European Registered Toxicologist (ERT).
